Translators and staff

Technical translation requires team work in addition to individual talents. Four in-house editors prepare the material, glossaries and specifications for freelance translators, and later review their work thoroughly before delivery to the client. Four in-house DTP/word processing operators are in charge of eliminating all computer-related worries for the translator and client.

We work on average with over 80 freelance translators a year from our database of over 600 selected and tested translators. Only translators that combine specialized knowledge of a subject (most are graduates in their field), years of translation experience, fluency of the source language, and adequate writing skills, are selected.

Software

• Glossary software (TRADOS MULTITERM) for building and managing glossaries, and on-line search and automatic detection of terminology during translation/editing;

• Translation memory software (TRADOS TRANSLATOR'S WORKBENCH, DEJA VU, TRANSIT and XL8) for producing updates of previously translated material and maintaining consistency of translations throughout a client's documentation;

• Editors for translating source code files (Brief, XL8, Resedit, AppleGlot, WordPerfect Program Editor);

• WORD (WINDOWS and MAC versions) and WordPerfect (DOS and WINDOWS versions) for word processing;

• VENTURA (WINDOWS), FRAMEMAKER (WINDOWS and MAC), PAGEMAKER (WINDOWS and MAC) and QUARKXPRESS (WINDOWS and MAC) for DTP;

• CORELDRAW, ALDUS FREEHAND and ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR for graphics;

• PHOTOSTYLER (WINDOWS) and PHOTOSHOP (WINDOWS and MAC) for image processing;

• OMNIPAGE OCR software;

• and 1024/512 kbps DSL Internet connection.
